RISD Human Resources will work with employees and managers related to ongoing compliance with the College’s documented policies and procedures for their safe return to work.
Paid Special Leave Policy
RISD has implemented “Paid Special Leave,” which provides for up to 20 days (two occurrences) of paid leave beyond normal vacation and sick time to address the impact of COVID-19:
- During isolation after testing positive for COVID-19
- During quarantine due to exposure, essential travel or while awaiting test results
- To care for a dependent or household member with COVID-19
Education and Training
Employees are required to undergo virtual public health training prior to each semester. The education plan will be an ongoing effort, providing the RISD community with up-to-date and reliable information with an emphasis on campus community health.
As we continue to navigate through unprecedented times resulting from the current global COVID-10 pandemic, it is clear that the members of our community are taking extraordinary measures to help assist students, faculty, and staff through unexpected transitions; to continue operations; and to maintain a safe and healthy RISD. Individuals across our institution have been working around the clock to ensure that we are successful in this endeavor, and we are so proud to work within a community that has come together in such meaningful ways.
